About Us

Three people posing together at an outdoor event with name tags.

Haferflocken Removals is a Father-Son partnership and Son is a Polk County, born and raised, native. We care about our community, Polk County's natural resources, and ensuring waste is properly disposed of. We partner with local thrift shops and recycling facilities to keep as much out of the landfills as we can.

David (Dad) has four years of experience as a biological scientist and as an agricultural biologist with the University of Florida, Ona Agricultural Research Center and the Polk County Mined Lands Research and Demonstration Project. Duties also included supervision of temporary employees with the production of agricultural crops for research purposes.

David also has more than four years of experience as a licensed wastewater treatment plant operator for Brevard County Utilities. Duties included the proper handling of waste oil and fuels used for various equipment.

Additionally, David has fifteen years of experience with the Polk Soil and Water Conservation District, working with the Polk County Cooperative Extension Service, conducting education programs for students and adults, including water conservation, and pollution prevention from point and nonpoint sources to surface waters and groundwater. Education programs also included presentations for students and adults concerning recycling, agricultural production, and prevention of the spread of invasive exotic plant species. Formerly licensed to possess and handle invasive species for education programs, by the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and the Department of Environmental Management prior to their merger with DEP.

Chris (Son) has worked various construction, warehouse, and manufacturing jobs in Polk County (for about 11 years), but has been an accountant for the last 10 years working in the State & Local Gov. and in the Non-Profit sectors.
